ABOUT ME

My undergraduate major was in apparel production, following which I worked at an apparel export house in India where I was doing production and product development for H&M and Bestseller brands. My role involved managing the entire supply chain, from sourcing raw materials to the final delivery of the shipment. Project management and stakeholder management were important parts of my role. I then got a Masters in fashion business from London. I experimented with my startup, a platform-based business model I designed to support sustainable fashion designers. My platform offered business support services to these designers in the areas of business strategy consulting in branding, marketing, business development, and sales support (AI-powered wholesale showroom powered by technology from Brandboom.com and international tradeshows like Coterie NY, Pure London). I was working with 40+ designers in collaboration with 10 international strategy consultants. I was simultaneously also working full-time as a lecturer in the fashion business department at Amity University in India. I taught courses in Marketing, Branding, Merchandising, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, and Advertising to Bachelor, Master, and MBA cohorts. Then about 2 years ago, I relocated to the US. I am currently pursuing my PhD in sustainable supply chain management. My research focuses on the return on investment in sustainability practices for fashion organisations.

MY PASSIONS

I am passionate about Research, having written my first research paper in my second year of college, I have always tried to integrate research into every project I have undertaken. I have prolifically published and presented at academic conferences. I am also very passionate about using business as a force for good. I firmly believe that while maximising profitability, businesses have a responsibility towards ecology and society.

WHAT AM I DOING RIGHT NOW?

In addition to my PhD in Sustainable Supply Chain Management, I am also working as a Sustainability Investing Fellow with 17 Asset Management, a New York-based asset management firm. I currently serve as an ambassador for Fashion Revolution USA. I am volunteering for a Biodiversity Citizen Science project with NELIS Global (Next Leaders Initiative for Sustainability). I worked on curriculum development for the Value Education Olympiad in collaboration with ISKCON, UNEP, Indian Ministry of Education and Tribal Affairs and I am the first author of two books written for this project.
